Design Project #3 - Cubist Designer Portrait

I wanted to show how I view myself and design. I view design as a very humbling experience. It helps you to learn about yourself, others, and the world around you. This is why I placed an image of the top side of my head as if it were bowing down. I show cased my eye, ear, and hand because I feel that as a designer you need to listen to the clients ideas and then put your own spin on it. The key here is to hear what they want not what they are telling you. The hand is to show that a good designer knows how to use the software well both quickly and accurately.  The eye is to show two things one is that a designer pays great attention to detail and the second is that a designer is focused on visual appeal. I have my head looking off to the side to show how we look towards the future as designers and never stop looking.

The Final Rendering
This design portrays me as a designer because I feel my designs are full of life. The tree like branches on my face symbolizing life. The dynamic lines constantly changing just like my designs. I design to allow creativity to stir within the viewer. I am a very tribal and ritual like artist who follows the rules of design yet breaks them when I feel it is appropriate. I am a organized designer as shown by the geometric grid on my right side of my face yet I can be chaotic and crazy as the left side shows. I am skilled in my use of typography as shown in the background. I am able to create a 3D space in a 2D one. I am serious about the work I produce. I want all to know that I designed it it's because it was very well done. I am Deidre Wilson a graphic Designer.
